This Privacy Policy explains how Kindred Spectrum ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We are committed to complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Kindred Spectrum is intended for use by parents and carers in the UK who believe their child may be autistic, whether or not a formal diagnosis has been made. It is intended for use by adults (18+). It is not intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect data directly from children.
Account information: email address, a display name of your choosing, and a general area (e.g. town or region — not a full address).
Content you post: forum threads, replies, and any other content you write within the app.
Reports: if you report another user's content, we store the post reported, your account, and the reason given.
Technical data: basic technical logs generated by our hosting provider (Supabase) to keep the service running securely, such as approximate access times and error logs. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Because this app exists to support parents discussing their child's possible autism, content you choose to post may reveal information about your child's health or development. Under UK GDPR this is treated as "special category data" and requires a higher standard of care.
We keep your account and posts for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.
Reports relating to a safeguarding concern are kept for up to 12 months, even if the account involved is later deleted, so that we can identify patterns of concerning behaviour or respond to further escalation if needed. After 12 months these are deleted unless we're required by law to keep them longer.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled.
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data, including relying on Supabase's built-in security features (encryption in transit, access controls). No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
This app is not directed at children, and we ask that you do not include your child's full name or other directly identifying details in posts. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll note the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in-app.
