Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Welcome to Kindred Spectrum. By creating an account or using this app, you agree to these Terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What this app is — and isn't

Kindred Spectrum is a community space for parents and carers in the UK who believe their child may be autistic, whether or not they have a formal diagnosis, to connect with others in similar situations, and a directory of external organisations that may be able to help.

This app does not provide medical, diagnostic, legal, or professional advice. Content posted by other members reflects their personal experience, not professional guidance. Always consult a qualified professional (e.g. your GP, paediatrician, or a SEND specialist) for advice specific to your child. Organisations listed in the directory are independent third parties — we don't control, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of their services, and their contact details may change; please verify independently before relying on them.

2. Who can use this app

You must be 18 or over and using this app as a parent, carer, or guardian. It is not intended for use by children.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Please use accurate information and don't impersonate anyone else.

4. Community guidelines

To keep this a safe, supportive space, you agree not to:

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these guidelines, with or without notice, at our discretion. See our reporting and moderation process in-app.

5. Safeguarding

If a post raises a genuine concern about a child's immediate safety, we may, where we reasonably believe it necessary, share relevant information with the appropriate authorities (e.g. the NSPCC or local children's services), regardless of the reporting user's wishes. This app is not a substitute for emergency services — if a child is in immediate danger, contact 999 or the NSPCC (0808 800 5000) directly.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of anything you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it within the app for the purpose of operating the service. You're responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to share it.

7. Reporting and moderation

You can report content that breaches these guidelines. Reports are reviewed by our team, who may remove content, warn, or suspend accounts. We aim to act on reports promptly but can't guarantee a specific response time.

8. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

9. Limitation of liability

This app is provided "as is." We do the best we can to keep it running and safe, but to the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for losses arising from your use of the app, content posted by other users, or your reliance on the organisation directory. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that can't legally be excluded.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms. We'll flag material changes in-app.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. [Adjust if you want Scotland/Northern Ireland-specific provisions, or UK-wide.]
